Near to Spring Break

When I was wondering the topic for my last post, my roommate—Star gave me a really good idea to finish my blog. She had almost finished all her class and she didn’t have to go to school. Rachel and I just needed to go to school and finished the evaluation for Susan’s class. So, we decided going to Bellevue together and celebrating our near Spring break. On the other hand, Star’s mother had come to Seattle for a few days. Rachel and I thought we needed to have dinner with Star’s mother at a good restaurant. I commend a Taiwan restaurant for them named Facing East. However, when we got there, there were a lot of people waiting. We had six more numbers before our waiting number. After thinking about the time, we decided to go to a restaurant beside Facing East which is a hot pot restaurant. The restaurant is named Boiling Point and it is new for all of us. When we entered the restaurant, the smell was really hard because their most famous hot pot is fermented bean curd. It is means a kind of very strong smelling Tofu. Star and I ordered this famous hot pot, and Rachel and Star’s mom ordered curry fish ball pot.

They look good, don’t they? And those are our drinks.

This restaurant’s hot pot was not very special, but their sauce is really great. They have homemade soy sauce, homemade spicy oil, and garlic hot sauce. The waiter told us to mix three sauces because it is good. We tried it and it was really taste great.

 We had a great time. It is not only because the delicious food, but also we are almost finish our work for this quarter. I am looking forward to my wonderful Spring break! Let’s drink for the Spring break, used milk tea.

A surprise dinner

Since I once came to the Bellevue, I didn’t like other place anymore. This is a really big city beside Seattle. Seattle is modern, but it is old and Bellevue is a new one. We planned to play bowling at first but we get there too late in the afternoon. We stopped at the Bellevue Square for a while and go through some of the shops. I really like the Hello Kitty for a very long time. That’s a cute shop which has girls dream. I know that on every Thursday. There is a market which farmers gathered and sell their natural product. The market is beside the Bellevue Square and the things there are very cheap and fresh.

We went to a Taiwan restaurant for dinner around half past seven in the afternoon. There are too many people there and people started to make lines. We took our number and wait outside the door, but it is too cold there. About 10 minutes later when we find out there are still six groups of people ahead of us, we gave up. With no choice, we went to the restaurant called “Boiling Point”. It is kind of a hot pot restaurant. I had a “Passion fruit juice” and “Curry fish ball hot pot” for dinner. I didn’t mention it would be good, but when I first tasted it, I really love it. It was very glad that the Taiwan restaurant had too many people, or I would never know there was also an awesome hot pot next to it. The problem was the food was too spicy for me and my throat got very hurt with the three star spicy foods. May be I will have a one star in the future and try it again.

Rachel’s recipe – Fried Chicken Breast.

I saw that there were many crumbs in my kitchen. I wanted to get them away, so I made Fried Chicken Breast for you today. I wasn’t sure it would taste good. Just have a try! Every time I buy fried chicken breast from Safeway, I feel very expensive on that and it is tasteless after you freeze it.

First, you should spend 4 to 6 dollars on the chicken breast. If it is frozen like mine, you should wait until it almost thaws or it will be too hard to cut. But don’t wait until it thaws all the way, then they will feel too soft to cut. And it is easier to cut your finger.

This is what it looks like. I waited for too long a time so it was thawed and trust me; it is really hard to slide it into pieces. It causes you more knife using skills!

Put the chicken in a plate and put some salt on it. The green bottle is a kind of Chinese seasoner called Chicken Essence. It makes the food taste more fresh and tasty. I guess you can get it in an Asian market or Chinese market. Leave the chicken breast there for a few minute to let the taste soak into the chicken.

From left to right, Chicken breast, beaten eggs and crumbs. Take a piece of chicken put into the egg bowl and then put into the crumb bowl. Let the crumbs stick on the chicken.

 

It is ready to put in the pan. This is an easy step. You just need to make it cooked.

And I get to the final. Look; it looks good and I’m ready to eat now!

A day out.

I got up at 11 o’clock in the morning and I wished I would have a wonderful trip on Sunday.

My trip was to the U District. This is my second time came here. The last time was for David’s birthday. I have never stopped and had a look at this place carefully. So this time I went to U District to enjoy it. This is a picture of me. Kim took it for me at the UW campus. My mom loves this kind of flower very much, so I took this picture for my mom.

From this picture, I feel that every place is better than Downtown Bothell.

I don’t know what they are, but they look so cute. All of them are made of wood, including the tops. They are all cute animals. I guess these are fragrance sticks which you can put fragrance on and it will smell good wherever you put it.

This is where I had my dinner. Kim recommended this Japanese noodle restaurant to me many times. I don’t like noodles very much because my family always has noodles every other day. I am afraid of noodles because they always taste the same and there’s nothing new in them. Whatever chicken soup or beef bone soup, I don’t like them at all. “Give it a shot!” I think. I followed Kim into this noodle restaurant and their noodles…

 

TASTE LIKE HEAVEN!

I took six pictures before I got to the final one. It is a toy owl and its head turns and turns and never stops. It is in a shop called Shigas Futon Shop. I want to buy it at once, but the problem is that the shop is closed on Sundays. I stood there and stood there and I didn’t want to move my step. I swear that I will get it in the future.

View to UWS

I went to UWS last Sunday. I like UWS campus very much because I think it is really beatiful. I went to UWS twice before, one was with Lambert and we went to the UWS club, the secend time was with David and some other classmates on David’s birthday. This time I went there because Rachel found out a Japanese shop last time(David’s birthday), but we didn’t have time to have a look at the shop. So, I went to UWS with Rachel this time because the Japanese shop. We went to Downtown Seattle and have a delicious hot dog first, then, we transfer bus No. 72 to university way.

When we got there, we went to the UW bookstore first, it was really totally different with our bookstore.

When we got out from the bookstore, our target was clear! The Japanese shop, but when we got the shop, the sad turth happened. Please look at the piccture and you will find out the reason. The shop closed on Sunday. Oh, that’s too bad! However, we had a window shop at least, but Rachel said:” Come with me next Saturday.”

Because of the shop was closed. We needed to find something else to do and spent our time until the next bus came. So, we went to a Japanese noodle restaurant. It is Samurai Ramen, I had it for dinner before and I thought it is good. I ordered a tampopo ramen in the restaurant. It includes half of egg, pork, bamboo shoots, sea sedge and fish roll on the ramen. It was really delicious.

Even though Rachel and I didn’t have a look at the Japanese shop, but at least we had a good time in a Japanese restaurant. I think I will go to UWS campus in the future because it is really has a lot of interesting thing and many good restaurants.

My special udon

Today, I will introduce my special udon to you. At first, I cook this kind of udon for dinner with Rachel. But both of us thought it is delicious, so, I cook it two to three times every week. I think I can share the easy cook and delicious udon to you!

First, the basic stuffs. They are frozen udon, some vegetables(what ever you like), fish balls, miso soup bags, corns and green beans.

Then, boil some water. Until the water boiling, boil the fish balls and vegetables quickly because if I cook them for a long time, they will not keep fresh.

                                 

After boil fish balls and vegetables. It is time to cook the most important thing–udom. Boil the udon until them float on the water. When the udon ready, put all the things in a bowl. They are look good, aren’t they?

                                 

Now, I have already finished half of the steps. The udon and side dishes are ready. Next, I am going to prepare the soup for the udon. Actually, I don’t know how to make miso soup, but we are living in a convenient world. I bought some miso soup bags at Uwajimaya market. Put six cups of water in the pot and boil it, and wait it boiling.

Final step! Put the hot soup into the bowl and make the udon and side dish warm again and eat it!

I am proud of this udon because I think it is good. It doesn’t cost a lot of money and it tastes good. I am interested in find out some new and delicious food, if I have other experiences, I will also share them to you!

Special family members

From this picture, can you tell the special family members of mine? You are right, they are my hamsters. I ordered them to call me “Mom,” and I call them Beibei and Cancan. I have had them about four months and I have already spent a lot of money on the cage, food, and sawdust. I changed the cage for them twice since I bought them. I treat them like my sisters or kids. One of them likes biting me a lot. I used to draw a red line on the one that likes to bite people to separate two of them, but they like to “have bath” in the cage, so that the red line has already gone away.

Both of them like carrots very much. They always fight for their favorite. I gave them some special things to eat once every several days. They enjoy it and I enjoy watching them enjoy it.  ^ ^Y

The yellow bear head cage is only for their toilet. At first I didn’t believe that they would use that little house, but they really did. Isn’t that cute?

This ball is only for them. I have two, but this time, I put them in one. Once they are in this ball they are free to have a walk around the house and everywhere they want.

Kim and I clean the cage for them every week. I think I have a responsibility to them and I have to take care of them. They have lived with us for a while now. I already treat them like my family members. Although they are not humans, they are lives and they bring us a lot of fun. I like to be with them and play with them.

Bei Bei and Can Can

Do you understand my title? Haha, they are my hamsters’ name. I bought these two hamsters with Rachel in last September. Their name are come from two famous phrases in China. They mean sad story and poor story, we always ues those words to decribe some unluck things but sad things, so, their name are actually fun in Chinese. Okay, I don’t want to just keep talking about them, I will show you the pictures!

This is their house, and this is the second one. The first is a pink one, but Rachel thinks it is too small. So, she throws the pink one and buy this one for her babies.

They are so cute, aren’t they?

The most funny thing for them, their bath room! Sometimes, the pets are more happiness than humans, I think so.

I really enjoy taking photos when they are eating.

                                                                               

Take care about pets is not an easy thing, I should have a lot of patient. I need to clean their house each other week, I need to feed them every two days, I need to take them out of house and have some sunshine everyay, and I need to buy food for them regularly. Most of those things sounds easy, but if all of those things come together that will be a challenge for me. Even though taking care of them is not an easy thing, but I still very enjoy it because I think is good for me. Taking care of them can help me to build my responsibility, that is important. Sometimes when I go to pet shop, I see there are many cats and dogs need somebody to

adopt them, they look very poor. I hope when somebody decide to have pets, please do not just because of fun. Even though pets are just animals, but they are also lives in the earth, same with humans!

Finally, there are Bei Bei and Can Can’s food, clean sand and bedding wood. Oh, they are really more happiness than me!!

A trip to Pike Place Market

This is not my first time go to Pike Place Market. I feel a little bit kind when I stand there. Pike Place Market is very similar as our market in China. I have been to Pike Place Market twice and I found that the shops on the side of the road are very good.  It’s worth to have a taste.

I took this picture for Kim, the gold pig and my bee bag. The pig remembers me a story of “Anderson Fairy Tales” or maybe “Simsala Grimm” called “The Gold Pig”. It is a story of a poor boy that beg on the street and if he beg less than the day before, his mother won’t give him anything to eat and won’t let him home, so that he sleep with the gold pig fountain of his city every day and sleep on the back of it. One day, he had a dream. The gold pig moved, and takes him to many fun places and gave him food.  When the first time I saw this pig, I even think this is where the story happened. Or maybe it really was.

I saw a lot of Asian in the Market. They sell a lot of Asian products. Lots of jewels and clothes, but they are not fashion anymore. I really recognize the food in the house and the food on the side of the road out of the house. I really like a American bakery outside.  The one which is my favorite has a really crispy taste and a little bit sweet. It’s not greasy and smells great. It is a small shop and I really don’t remember the name of the bakery, but if you saw a little bakery with the most people there. It must the bakery I recognized.

Walk toward to the end of the Pike Place Market; there you can see a great site of Washington Lake. We saw the sun set at there. Many people sell souvenirs there, about Seattle.

Another Famous Place in Seattle

  Perhaps it is a little bit surprice for you, but as my last post said, I have never been to Pike Place Market before. And another funny thing I should tell you, I don’t know Pike Place Market is a foumas place in seattle before Rachel and Star told me about that. Last Sunday, I went to Pike Place Market with Rachel, Star and Oven. I got there around 4P.M, when I got there, most of the shops were almost closed. I went to Pike Place Market for last post, and Rachel reminded me around 2P.M that Sunday is the most interesting day for Pike Place Market. So, I didn’t have a plan to go to Pike Place Market and I got there so late. However, I still could feel Pike Place Market is popular place in Seattle. There were so many people in there, some of them were buying food, some of them were having fun there, and some of people were visiting there. Even though I didn’t know many things about Pike Place Market, but I still enjoyed visiting here.

The first thing took my focus was a bronze pig, it was interesting. I didn’t know why there is a pig’s sculpture here, but I also put in a quarter and took a picture with it.

There were really a lot of people here!!

Because I went to there too late, so I didn’t have time to view all of the shops, but Rachel and Star took me to a bakery, they told me the bread in this shop is delicious. So, I bought a potato onion mushroom bread. I didn’t know how to decribe it, but it really great. Oh, I saw the heaven!

I didn’t spend much time in Pike Place Market, but I will be back because it is really interesting. Especially the bread!
